“Community councils are elected every 4 years.

The next Community Council elections in Fife are scheduled to take place on Thursday, 4 October 2018.”

(Elections are only held if there are more nominations than seats.)

“To stand as a community councillor you must:

* be 16 or over,

* be on the electoral register at an address in the area of the community council area you want to stand in,

* be resident in the community council area you want to stand in, and;

* must not be an elected member of Fife Council.”

“Completed nomination papers must be lodged with the Returning Officer at Fife Council, Democratic Services, 3rd Floor, Fife House, North Street, Glenrothes KY7 5LT on any day Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm from Friday 17th August 2018 but not later than 4.00 pm on Thursday 6th September 2018. It is recommended that nomination papers are lodged in advance of this date.”
