The most popular event in Burntisland’s social calendar doesn’t just happen. Unlike many other places, Burntisland’s Bonfire (and fireworks) is always the 5th (of November).
Behind the scenes there is plenty of planning – the fireworks firm is already booked – and liaising with the Police, Fife Council, Stagecoach, ScotRail and various entertainment providers.
This requires individuals, formally known as the Burntisland Events Group and also a host of volunteers to build the Bonfire and act as Marshalls and coin collectors on the evening.
YOU could join in too. If you want to add to the core committee come along on Sunday. If you (think you might) want to be a volunteer on the day, just send an email today.
The AGM will also be a chance to discuss other events that people might want to organise in the town.
